Daily Desire

Thank you Daily Candy for introducing me to this new line of handbags…

I love flat bottomed bags (admission: flat bottomed girls lyrics just ran through my head), and with both black & brown coloring, it’s perfect for everyday use!

I’m currently dragging my mustard yellow bag with me since July, and it’s time for something new…something a bit more suited for the chilly seasons. I need ideas.

Happy Bday Dad!

Today’s my dad’s birthday, and I’m so excited to be heading home tomorrow to celebrate and indulge in some delicious turkey, stuffing, potatoes and more! I haven’t been home since May, and I’m craving a furry hug from my babies : )

Please, please traffic, don’t be too horrible!!

Daily Desire

Since living in my own apartment, I’ve become much more interested in decor. I remember when I was younger though, and my mom hired an interior decorator. I loved sitting and hearing her ideas, looking through her books. I remember giving my opinion and the older woman looking at me and telling me I had a good eye.

And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been discovering my tastes and styles. And I absolutely adore chandeliers. I love them in everyday rooms, like bedrooms, offices, casual living rooms. And this Shabby Chic one is just lovely.

Interview update

I made it through the first cut…and completed the writing assignments this morning.

Eagerly awaiting notice if I made it on to a second in person interview!!…

Omlettes in a bowl

I found a recipe in a recent Glamour magazine and have become obsessed! It’s a super easy way to cook up eggs, omlette-style but so much quicker, cleaner and faster! Basically you just spray a microwavable bowl with cooking spray (Pam), and toss in your eggs and any veggies, cheese, etc…place a plate over the top of the bowl and microwave for about 3 minutes. Done. Delicious.

Why hasn’t anyone done this before!? It’s my go to dinner when I have no energy/time/ingredients. I usually throw in tomatoes and cheese (obviously Parmasean), but tonight I used some frozen peppers and onions…not too shabby!

I’m always searching for ideas on what to cook for one person. I came across this book and it looks perfect! I thoroughly enjoy “cooking for one” and would love healthy, cheap, and creative meal ideas!

Daily Desire

I love Christmas ornaments. I also love not talking about/decorating/listening to Xmas music until after Thanksgiving.  But for some reason, I’m getting into the holiday spirit early this year.

Anthropologie may have some of the cutest, chicest ornaments I’ve seen yet. I’m obsessed. I bought a beautiful sparkly swan one there last year to represent my move to Boston (swan boats, get it) and want to buy more this year.

Check out this fun, clip on ornament! And so many more!

Anxious excitement

Emerged from my funk today and am moving forward…fun day at work at the store and it was great just knowing it’s Thursday. I ventured around the corner to Starbucks to grab some tea and the sight of their cozy red cups and festive food & drinks was enough to make anyone smile inside.

And then I got some exciting news…a big interview tomorrow morning for kind of a dream job. I’m nervous I’m getting my hopes up but I can’t help it. Crossing my fingers.

Oh, and note: Citrus C Odwalla drink DOES INDEED greatly assist in the starting off the day in a good mood mission : )

How can I get my hair to curl like this!!??

Absolutely adorable.…so Blair-like, so Liz-like

Have you seen anything so beautiful and magical?!

Holly Golightly: He’s all right! Aren’t you, cat? Poor cat! Poor slob! Poor slob without a name! The way I see it I haven’t got the right to give him one. We don’t belong to each other. We just took up one day by the river. I don’t want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I’m not sure where that is but I know what it is like. It’s like Tiffany’s.
Paul Varjak: Tiffany’s? You mean the jewelry store.
Holly Golightly: That’s right. I’m just CRAZY about Tiffany’s!

Hump day funk

I’m in a funk and don’t really know why. I’m frustrated…with life. With my lack of funds, with my lack in personal discipline to avoid bowls and bowls of chips, salsa & guac at Border Cafe.  And then the frustration/bad mood just gets the ball rolling and everything seems shitty. So I give in, let the bad mood take over, fully indulge in the shittiness, and vow to start fresh tomorrow. Because sometimes a really great bad mood is fun.

How messed up does that sound?

But at least when you indulge and let yourself just feel shitty, the next day is bound to be better.  I think I may start my day off tomorrow with a Citrus C Odwalla drink, which is delicious and makes me feel good getting in some vitamins  and fruits right away in the A.M. Stay away Swine Flu.

I need to start taking more pictures and figure out how to hyperlink…any tips

After 5 glasses of chardonnay

Even with some extra players, we didn’t far so well at trivia tonight…I am thoroughly frustrated…yet I am proud that my Sex and the City knowledge earned us some points!

It’s the boy’s birthday..we indulged in some drinks, Guiness cupcakes, and burgers…now time to relax  ; )

See you tomorrow !!

Trivia Tuesday

Successful shopping trip!  Didn’t spend too much…but got the most amazing Martha Stewart deal…Deep Dish Baking Dish…on sale for $7!!  I let myself get the “Naughty & Nice Spatula” as a treat then.

For the second Tuesday in a row, we’ll be participating in trivia down the street…going to try to do better than last week!  Won’t say what place we might have ended up in, not the absolute last place…but not much better  ; )

I made some Guiness Stout Beer cupcakes for the boy’s bday…but accidently poured in 50% extra beer…this should be interesting!  (Recipe courtesy of Martha Stewart Cupcakes book)

PS. Another beautiful fall day in Boston : )

Went and saw the Blue Man Group last Friday night with the boy…amazing!! Super entertaining and I don’t even know how to explain it!  I’m already eager to go see it again! Fun night doing something different (and dare I say “cultural”) out in Boston!!

Can you tell how much I love the Commons in the fall!?

Black & white cupcakes for my bday

                                             Boston Commons in the fall

I obviously suck at daily blogging

So it’s already the middle of November and I haven’t blogged since end of October…not to make excuses, but things became super busy, with Halloween (tons of fun as a Beyonce Single Lady) and then my birthday which was absolutely fabulous : )  I feel so lucky and blessed to have such amazingly awesome friends, some who traveled quite some distances to join in on the birthday fun!

But yes, all that craziness left me away from my computer more than usual and made me lazy and left lots of empty space on this blog of mine. I vow not to let this become routine and as I get more into my writing once again, it’s making me want to continue this blog more and more so I promise to make a greater effort in being much more regular with my posts.

As I said, it was a busy couple fun weeks, but now it’s the middle of November and Boston is still beautiful!  I’m deeply in love with fall and plan on walking around the city a bit today and doing a little shopping…though I’m trying to spend less money, I seem to suck at that as well (any justification, I’m going out to use some Macy’s gift cards on kitchen supplies and a bday gift card at Vickys..lets see if I can just keep to those purchases)!

Following are some pictures form recent weeks and I’ll be back soon : )
